december 18th






vintage photo slides, board, paper, selfmade paper


In this matchbox there are two old (very blue) slides of the same location on top of each other with a gap between them so that the scene changes and becomes oddly three dimensional when you change the angle you're viewing it from. This is one of those boxes that are beautiful but impossible to photograph well. I knew that from the start but couldn't stop and change my plan.

Again a wonderful idea. Have you tried printing your own photos onto acetate? My daugter did an art project combining layered acetate sheets with sculpture in front and moss and twigs. I was so impressed with it. It sat in the living room for ages.

It's hard to decide which is my favorite, but so far, it's this.
They're so beautiful, kind of bittersweet and melancholy. Absolutely lovely.
