Yann - 6

Too many photos, no words, but this is a long story to tell. Yann, all finished, with box and everything. This has been one of my all time favourite projects. This year has been a huge learning experience to me, I'm re-learning to be me and do the things I love. This I love:

If you have questions about the book, or just questions in general, I'll do my best to answer them in the comments or by email.

It's so beautiful! I love how the inlay from the book cover continues onto the box.

I don't think I can think of anything to say that hasn't already been said, other than - holy crap, that rocks!

So beautiful!!! A great job. I love the blue of the leather.
How do you print letters on leather??
Lovely box. PERFECT

Thank you everyone for such a lovely response! It means the world to me.

Ibb, I haven't forgotten your email, just busy and blah here. The letters aren't printed, they're tiny back-pared leather onlays=they're cut from leather pared paper thin and stuck on the cover leather, which in turn will (after some magic) be pared a little so that the letters sink in.

You can see the cut letters in the Yann -2 post, or here: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_QIxGCSro-Pc/Sog9Q5fzkAI/AAAAAAAAB5c/p0-4v2VSb48/s1600-h/yann12.JPG

The text strip is genious ! You mentioned that it's for a competition ? any way to follow that somewhere ?

Am biased with the book since blue is my all time favourite colour - but I can almost feel the leather texture !

pikku, I'll keep you updated here on the blog. At the moment I only know my book has arrived safely and on time. I'm expecting to know more some time in November.

The blue really is gorgeous, even better in real life :)

Hi Kaija,
Hope you're feeling evermore settled in your new home!
The completed Yann is exquisite! And it has been a real treat being able to follow the process from start to finish here - thank you!

Hi Suzanne,
Thank you for your kind words and the lovely matchbox letter post you wrote :)

Settling in has gone pretty well so fare, but I still don't have proper daylight in my home. I haven't really felt like taking photos with inadequate lighting. And I've been lazy and having a social life (*gasp*), so there hasn't been much to blog about. I'll be back, eventually. I'm missing you all already.
