Summer is here, to stay, I believe. It's been too hot for some time, but at least today is a windy day. And the wind blows from the sea. It's funny that I've lived many years in Turku and I've seen the sea less than ten times. I grew up inland, so just knowing that the sea is right here makes everything different. Well, everything is different in here anyway. I like walking along the river, to work, to the city center, to my friend's home. The river is almost always on my side. It's a good friend as long as it stays far enough from me. I don't want to wear a life jacket.
Since I'm not taking any more custom orders this summer, I thought I should make something for the summer brides. So, here they are: White summer daisies with 24k gold centers on fine white linen. Inside of covers is white mulberry paper with little bits of gold leaf. 72 white pages, approx. 7.7"x8.4"x0.8" (19,5x21,4x2cm).

I had so much fun making this that another, case bound book is drying in the press as I write. Maybe a shop update tomorrow then... You'll be seeing me around a lot more during the next week for various reasons! I feel so excited already!

Kaija, this book is absolutely beautiful and doesnt have to be for a bride. It could just as easily be for someone who loves gorgeous things.
I grew up about half a mile from the sea, I live inland now but no matter where I go I always want to visit the sea if it is near, it draws you back.
White on white has long been one of my favourites, and the gold adds a touch of luxury suitable for brides or other happy people.
Lovely. It will be nice to see some more of what you're working on. It's a date.
